I was born and raised in Augusta , Ga. my father also an Augusta native, who was an electrician at King Mill Industries. My mother, was a beautician from Bakersfield, California.
I began sculpting at the age of six, what was commonly known to other peers my age as Play- Doh, became a versatile doorway to hands of imaginative proportions. Having an endless supply of this time consuming wonder, I could feel my way toward an animal, person, or what ever I was imagining at the time.
Often things I made were never returned but were kept and displayed at school. My grade school teacher ignited an art interest within me, as she suggested a future art education.
Due to modest income, my art desires were suppressed academically however the passion remained. Thus I am self taught and quite proud of that aspect.
My mother was a natural sketch artist; she often shared many shadowing techniques to capture the perfect essence of the subject at hand.
I created in my private quiet moments which became fewer as adulthood meant responsibility.
My son Chance was a wonderful gift carrying the art line thru music. Often stringed instruments danced at his fingertips.
I instilled artistic passion in him unknowingly, thru my work. He has come to appreciate and enjoy many famous artists before their time. We often stroll and gaze in wonder of a time and people who built such a creative and colorful perception of life thru books, galleries, and museums.
I enjoy the outdoors just a stroll thru a busy walkway can open creative ideas. " I find the human anatomy to be God's art in motion" . "We are all indeed exquisite machinery".
My inspiration is Intense love verses the paths in this daily journey we so lightly refer to as life. God has equipped my hands and for this I am truely humbled and greatful.
It is my desire now to use the talent He has blessed me with to help underpriveledged children. This has been something near and dear to my heart for sometime, and hopefully in the coming years I will be able to do my small part in using funds generated thru my art, helping to strengthen their little hearts with love, and encouragment for their days ahead.
"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:5
